What a party! Last weekend there was a huge grand opening party at the eagerly awaited Mark Woolley Gallery where one of my paintings has already sold. Long time Portland art broker and gallerist Mark Woolley opened this new space as part of The Settlement galleries in Pioneer Place. For those of you were able to visit my “Spots of Time” show at People’s Art, Mark’s new gallery is on the same floor. Make sure you also have time to visit Place, another gallery on the same floor with a fantastic show this month (photos below).

Here I am with my paintings in the show. All souls Blend (Diptych) each panel 11 x 14, usually hung together horizontally; and Passion Spares Nothing, 11 x 14, SOLD.

The beautiful 3200 square foot space opened with the lively group exhibition, SIMPLY RED (2), in celebration of the color for passion and life. Over 50 artists are represented in the show, including Eric Stotik, Mary Josephson, Tom Cramer, and Chris Rauschenberg. The opening party also celebrated Mark’s 60th birthday with red cosmos, music, dancers and fun.

Three encaustic paintings by Kimberly Kent up top

I was entranced by these stunning printed scrolls by Georganne Waters at Place Gallery on the same floor. Her show is titled “Weighing of the Souls.”

Work from J. Brown’s show “Within the Ephemeron” in another area of Place Gallery.

This visitor couldn’t resist becoming part of the installation by J. Brown.
